01What does Live mean?
Live means the published schedule overlaps the selected time. It is not a claim that a transmitter is operating or that its signal is being received.
02Does a Favorable forecast guarantee reception?
No. Forecasts are modeled prospects. Local noise, interference, antenna performance, transmitter state, and rapid ionospheric changes can alter the real result.
03How are Merged records created?
DXLens reconciles matching schedule records while preserving named source evidence. Conflicting technical fields remain visible rather than being silently averaged.
04What is the difference between Aligned and Chances?
Aligned emphasizes broadcasts whose known beam geometry supports your receiver location. Chances independently looks for strong modeled paths, including useful off-axis or uncertain-beam opportunities.
05Can I create more than one Custom tab?
Yes. Custom views are reusable presets with independent names, icons, colors, filters, exclusions, forecast rules, and ordering.
06Does DXLens operate the SDR receivers?
No. Public KiwiSDR receivers are independently owned and operated. Personal RTL-TCP receivers are hosts you configure and control yourself.
07Can I use my own RTL-TCP receiver?
Yes. On first Listen via SDR use, choose My RTL-SDR to open receiver setup, then add the host and port, verify the RTL0 handshake, and choose the appropriate HF profile. Portable tuning, RTL DSP, and Listening Scan preferences can sync through optional iCloud sync, while the personal RTL endpoint and hardware profile remain on the device where you configured them.
08Where do NASA and NOAA data appear?
Space-weather context appears in Labs and relevant forecast evidence. DXLens labels cached, partial, or assumption-limited evidence and does not convert context into a reception guarantee.
09Are recordings uploaded?
Recordings are created locally when you request them. They are not automatically uploaded to DXLens.
10Is precise location required?
No. You can use a manual listening location. Location improves path, time, weather, and receiver matching when enabled.
